TIRANA, Dec. 22 – Dr. Arben Ramkaj, founder and Executive Director of the Inter-religious Institute of Albania and Chairman of the Inter-religious Cooperation Center Elbasan, has been appointed as a member of the General Secretariat of the International Committee for Religious Tolerance and selected as Director of the Europe Office.
A prominent Albanian academic, researcher, author and global expert on security and religious issues, Dr. Ramkaj has also led civil society campaigns, interfaith dialogue, cooperation between communities and international inter-religious dialogue.
The International Committee for Religious Tolerance is based in Washington and brings together international human rights activists representing a number of religions. (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and others).
The committee works to promote and transform the values of tolerance, coexistence, moderation into sustainable institutional work by launching a package of initiatives, programs and projects to enhance and embody those values and work to achieve their international sustainability.
