BY Alfoc Rakaj Albania’s sluggish transition to a fully functioning market economy and a consolidated democracy has progress in parallel with the concentration of power and wealth into few urban areas. As a result, politics is increasingly big-city focused while local media, blinded by its full attention to daily political quarrels, has failed to sufficiently cover the rising tensions emerging away from the power center.
