TIRANA, Sept 20 – Authorities have seized a sailing boat with one ton of cannabis on board off the shore of Darezeze Beach in central Fier County.
A joint operation of the Albanian and Italian law enforcements led to the seizure.
The drugs were found on board and around a sailing boat operated by Albanian and an Italian. The two individuals, who were throwing the cannabis packages to the sea when reached by the Albanian and Italian police boats, were taken in custody.
The sailing boat was spotted on radar by border authorities.
