TIRANA, Aug 30 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha was in Salzburg, Austria last week to take part at the informal meeting of the heads of governments of Southeast European states.
The meeting was organized by Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann. Also attending the meeting were Montenegrin Prime Minister of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic and Macedonian Prime Minister Nikolas Gruevski.
Berisha, accompanied by his spouse Liri Berisha, watched the “Romeo and Juliet” opera performed in the course of Salzburg festival
“This is a traditional cultural-political summit in the context of which the Austrian Chancellor invites leaders from the region to have a taste of the Salzburg Festival of music and drama and to hold meetings.
I held a good meeting with Chancellor Faymann. We discussed at length about the bilateral relations, Albania’s EU integration, and I got his support as well as the support of Austria Minister for Foreign Affairs Michael Spindelegger, an old friend of mine.
Likewise, I talked with the Montenegrin PM Djukanović and Macedonian PM Gruevski. I discussed the relations between our countries and the exchange of visits. The meetings were held under an atmosphere suitable with the cultural background that the wonderful Salzburg Festival provides,” said Berisha.
