German business interested in Albania

TIRANA, Oct 13 – German businessmen are interested in investing in the tiny Balkan country, according to a government official.
State Secretary Hartmut Schauerte told Deutche Welle radio station that some 80 German businessmen would come to Albania to take part at an Oct. 20-22 conference on energy, environment and construction.
Schauerte also met with Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha during his recent visit to Berlin.
The German official said that it was made clear to them that the German economy should be a leading partner for the Albanian development.
Energy and infrastructure were two main big areas of interest for the German business, he said adding that the Tirana conference would supply the required information to the businessmen interested to throw their money into the tiny Balkan country.
Germany has invested and given as grants up to about 800 million Euros to post-communist Albania.
