TIRANA, May 21 – Ylli Staka, 46, a policeman made a joke when telling his family he had been hijacked while he was, in fact, in neighboring Macedonia.
Following a call for help from his son, police organized a search of different possible crash sites.
Later it was determined that Staka had left Tirana toward Pogradec, and then had crossed the border.
Staka was arrested in the Morini border crossing point in Kukes and has since been fired from the police ranks.
