TIRANA, July 25 – In the peak of the political fight in the country, mainly for prosecutor-general, vice Interior Minister Ferdinand Poni makes a statement saying that they had found significant abuse of funding from the Tirana city hall run from Socialist leader Edi Rama. Poni said that Rama had abused with 40 million leks in a tender on advertisement, a figure that was strongly mentioned from Prime Minister Sali Berisha of the Democratic Party as well. Poni said that 24 publicity spots were broadcast for some days five times a day at five private television stations. He said there existed no documentation but a piece of paper with a few lines to justify the funding of such an advertisement with 40 million leks. Poni, who is also member of the city hall council, said the council would be urged to create an investigative committee on the issue.
